There is another "All State" dive completion that was introduced last year. This year that will be held the weekend of July 16-17 for those who want to participate. More info to come.
Dive Meets start at 5:30
Warm ups for away meets are from 5-5:30, and for home meets are 4:15-5:00.
DIVE TEAM REGISTRATION
SAVE THE DATE! Normandy Park Dive Team has been invited to join in Diving FUN Days this summer from 11:30am-2:00pm on Tuesday: 19 @ King County Aquatic Center. Diving Fun Days offers a chance for local divers to come to KCAC and participate in diving on the 1 and 3 meters and towers, have a blast and get really exposed to a new level of diving. This is designed for Summer league divers and young Junior Olympic athletes under 16. Pizza, pop and diving are included at each Diving Fun Day! More info to come once regular dive season/practices start. Cost is $35.
Dive Team 2011 Information
It is almost time for the 2011 Dive Season. This summer promises to be very exciting! Last year with the leadership of our fantastic dive coaching staff our dive team grew in number and talent. We are happy to announce that Kathleen O'Grady-Graham is continuing as the lead dive coach. With the expertise of all of our coaches and our very enthusiastic dive team we have enjoyed many successful years and we look forward to another year of the same this year. Please consider being part of our team and having a wonderful summer.
We welcome and encourage everyone to give dive team a try. The minimum requirement for diving is that your child will jump off of the diving board alone and they are able to swim to the side of the pool. Come have fun, make new friends, and cheer on your team mates! If your child wants to participate on the dive team this summer, please sign up now. A separate registration form/release is needed for each diver, but one check per family is fine. In the past the fee has been $50 per child which includes daily practices from the first day of summer vacation until the end of July and 3 Friday evening dive meets and the Saturday "All City" meet. We would like to keep the fee at this same level. That means we need EVERY family to participate in volunteering in some way during this season's meets. Without volunteers we will need to hire judges, announcers and other people to run our meets smoothly. Volunteers help keep dive team more affordable! Participation at the dive meets is encouraged, but never required. The forms and check should come to my address rather than to the pool! Please do not mail with the Swim Team forms. Dive Team practices are held during swim lessons. Children practice diving with their peers. It enables the divers to get the training they need for their individual level. Please select a time for your child's age category that will best fit into your schedule. The coaches will advise you if your child needs to advance to another age level for further training.
Practice Schedule:
10:00 - 10:30 8 & Under 11:30 - Noon 12 & Under
10:30 - 11:00 8 & Under (Speedy 6ers) Noon - 12:30 14 & Under & Seniors
11:00 - 11:30 10 & Under
(These times will be adjusted if participation is higher at another level not anticipated)
Reminder: Participation at practice or a meet will not be allowed until the Registration/Release form is signed and submitted, and fees paid. Please send registration forms and checks to:
